Port Royal

Port Royal Plantation area on Hilton Head Island has three miles of the island’s quietest beaches from the Atlantic to the Port Royal Sound. Walks along this beautiful and scenic beach will bring you to a point where the Atlantic flows into the vast Port Royal Sound. Generally, pods of dolphins can be seen here, and it’s a great area for collecting all kinds of shells.

Located mid-island, access is easy for adventures both on and off island. There are numerous places to rent equipment, including bikes, boogie boards, sailboats, both at the beach and outside the plantation. There are over 30 golf courses in Hilton Head and the surrounding area, over 200 shops, 250 restaurants, 117 miles of bike paths and hundreds of tennis courts for the active vacationer.

Port Royal clubhouse is open to guests for dining and to relax at the bar. Golfers have access to the three 18-hole golf courses, a driving range and putting green, located in Port Royal Plantation. The Planters Row course has been rated one of Golf Reporter Magazine’s top 50 courses in the Carolinas. The Robbers Row course was recently redesigned by Pete Dye. The Port Royal Racquet Club is listed by Tennis Magazine as one of the “50 greatest US Tennis Resorts.”
